Succession planning: Preserving SF businesses and retaining jobs through employee ownership

This workshop will train attendees on how to prepare for business succession needs among retiring business owners.  Often viable mid-size business close due to a lack of succession planning.  This workshop will address the potential impacts on SF businesses.  Attendees will learn how to help employees buy businesses from retiring owners by converting them to employee ownership. Attendees will learn the basic conversion process, see case studies of businesses that have become employee-owned, and understand the field of partners and specialized technical expertise needed to complement the role of a local guide. Get practice identifying businesses in your community that are well suited for employee ownership and help owners explore this opportunity!
