San Francisco, CA (July 1, 2019) – On June 27th, the San Francisco Small Business Development Center (SBDC) announced the official launch of the Business Growth Group (BGG) program at the San Francisco Fastest Growing Businesses Mixer.
Over one hundred participants including entrepreneurs, community partners, representatives from the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, and Small Business Administration (SBA), attended this kick-off event to show support for this new initiative.
The BGG program was created to provide the knowledge, network and services to fast-growing businesses with 25 to 250 employees. A team of BGG advisors will provide concentrated one-on-one advising in areas including but not limited to capital funding, business growth strategies, human resources, professional networking, and training and workshops.
“We are excited to expand our services in order to address the challenges fast-growing small businesses face,” said Angel Cardoz, Director of San Francisco SBDC. “By helping them expand and grow through the BGG program, small businesses will achieve both short-term results and long-term sustainability"
The program is free to eligible San Francisco businesses through the federal, State and City funding. The mission is to help businesses succeed in an increasingly competitive climate and stimulate the local economy. Businesses under this program are expected to achieve economic impact by creating ten or more jobs, acquiring capital funding, and growing their business in San Francisco.
“Whether you are a start-up or growing business, everyone can benefit from working with a business advisor. We encourage all small businesses to take advantage of the free counseling resources from our local partners like the San Francisco SBDC,” said Julie Clowes, District Director of SBA’s San Francisco District Office.
