About the Business:
Riskin Electric is excited to offer its clients a wide range of services, starting with EV charger installation all the way to electrical service and breaker panel upgrades and knob-and-tube rewiring in the Bay Area.
Avraham Riskin started his business after working in home remodeling for many years, eventually transitioning to the electrical trade and earning a state license.
Overcoming Challenges:
2023 was a year of opportunity and challenge for the owner Avraham Riskin. Having spent tens of thousands of dollars acquiring tools, materials and fleet, he was having a hard time managing mounting credit card debt. Even with decent cash flow, paying off the premium seems impossible.
Impacts:
Avraham turned to the San Francisco Small Business Development Center (SF SBDC) for help with his financial hurdles. SF SBDC finance advisor guided him through reconciling his accounts, creating a profit-and-loss statement, and building a balance sheet to clarify his business’s financial health. Avraham successfully applied for a small business loan with hands-on support from SF SBDC advisor. This funding allowed him to manage his debt, invest in equipment, expand his team, and take on larger projects.
