Two Jack’s Nik’s Place

Working with Molly of the SBDC on the Women Entrepreneurship Fund was a welcomed experience. Her patience and professionalism during the process was reassuring and helped make the tasks less daunting.

All Client Stories
Nikki Cooper is the second-generation owner and operator of her family’s first restaurant Two Jack’s which serves the best southern comfort food since 1977. In 2013, she earned the Certificate of Honor from San Francisco’s Board of Supervisors for continuing her family’s tradition and for being a pioneer in bringing live jazz back to the Lower Haight!
Challenge

Two Jack’s needed to increase the visibility of the restaurant as well as the food production. However, with COVID affecting her business, Nikki lacked the funds to accomplish this.

Gameplan

Nikki contacted the San Francisco SBDC for help in acquiring a Women Entrepreneurship grant. She was paired with Molly, who assisted her in navigating the Women Entrepreneurship Fund process.

Results

Two Jack’s Nik’s Place was awarded $5,000 from the Women Entrepreneurship Fund. With the funding Nikki was able to purchase equipment to allow the restaurant to increase the amount of food they are able to produce as well as signages for outside the restaurant and a refresh of their website.
