Teappo is a family-owned tea company founded by a husband and wife with a deep-rooted passion for artisan teas. The business has a significant family history, spanning over 100 years, of trading premium oolong teas. With strong connections to tea farmers in Taiwan, Teappo sources and brings the best teas to customers at a reasonable price. The company specializes in carefully curating and packaging Taiwanese Oolong and Japanese teas, aiming to share the beauty of these teas with the world.

The owners were inspired by their family’s long history of trading premium oolong teas. Their passion for artisan teas and the desire to share the beauty of these teas with the world motivated them to start Teappo. This family legacy, combined with a love for high-quality teas, laid the foundation for the small family-owned business.

Teappo faced the challenge of scaling and expanding its business. The owners sought assistance from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and, with the help of advisor David Mitroff, they secured the California Dream Fund grant to start the business. With ongoing guidance from David, the business made significant strides in strategic planning, exploring new selling avenues such as setting up an Amazon store and enhancing product visibility through targeted advertising with Google Ads.

David also recommended expanding their reach to different geographical craft events by hiring a local event assistant. This strategic move has great potential and is actively being explored. As a result of these strategies, Teappo is optimistic about shifting its focus towards refining its business strategy, diversifying product offerings, and enhancing brand visibility through multiple channels.
